A Message from Deborah Koons Garcia

Dear Supporters,

Thanks to your help, The Future of Food premiered September 14, 2005 at Film Forum in New York City to a SOLD OUT audience. It was carried over in New York for five weeks! Over its ongoing 3-month theatrical run, the film has opened in over 20 cities across America and Canada, with panels and speakers at our launches. It has been a pleasure meeting you all at these launches, and at the individual screenings by organizations that have taken place around the world. I am thrilled by the amazing response this film produces, and I look forward to continuing the movement to reform our troubled food system. A revolution is happening and you are part of it!

The Future of Food has been embraced by audiences, activists and communities everywhere, and I wanted to continue that tradition with the DVD release. I've added lots of great resources to the 2 Disc Special Edition DVD so you can keep the momentum going right from your living room. Please continue to show this film to your friends and family in your meeting halls, living rooms and church basements. Share the knowledge with your community, have discussion groups and start to brainstorm solutions. Take action and vote with your fork! Local resolutions for GE Free Zones are happening around the world. In this newsletter, we have spotlighted some of the great organizations and campaigns going on around the globe, with ways you can get involved in your community. Send a letter to your congressman to support GE labeling bills. Find a local family farm and support it, eat organic and encourage your supermarket to carry organic and non-GMO products.

I would also like to give special thanks to our speakers during our theatrical launch. A new speakers tour is being organized for the DVD launch, beginning on December 1st. Please visit our grassroots page for details at www.thefutureoffood.com/grassroots.

Happy eating!
