This educational edition features a year-long college level curriculum that serves as a companion to Deborah Koons Garcia’s documentary The Future of Food. It is based on Dr. Joshua Muldavin’s lecture course entitled Food, Agriculture, Environment, and Development.
Dr. Joshua Muldavin has a long and distinguished record as a teacher of the highest quality. This curriculum draws on research he has conducted on food and agriculture around the world and the courses he has taught for a combined 25 years at UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Sarah Lawrence College, as well as the lectures he has given at Oxford University, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, Princeton University, Vassar College, Bard College, University of Hawaii, University of Washington, Sophia University Tokyo, University of Helsinki, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and other universities. While at UCLA, he won the Distinguished Teaching Award and was also given the Eby Award, a teaching award given to the best teacher of the year. He is currently a Professor of Geography at Sarah Lawrence College.
